Ambassadors of Love

My heart hurts when I think of all the people in the world who do not know of Jesus, who do not know Jesus. My heart hurts when I think of all the people that have the wrong image of who Jesus is. My heart hurts when I realize it’s our fault. Why do we look like ambassadors of the world when we are to be ambassadors of love? We were made for so much more.

“We are to love as we are loved, by this everyone will know that we are His, and that He loves them.” John 13:34-35

This world is full of so much hatred. Hatred for itself. Hatred for each other. Hatred for hatred. There is a reason why the two greatest commandments command us to Love. Love is what defeats hatred. Love is what saved us, love is what will save the world. Hand by hand we can start an epidemic of love. Hand by hand we can continue what Jesus did for us at the cross, Love. The world has made Love seem superfucial, but Love is the truest and the realist thing that exists.

“Greater love has no man than this: to lay down your life for your friend.” John 15:13

Be quick to forgive and slow to resent

See people for who they are not what they’ve done

We’ve all done wrong and fallen down

Remember David? A man after God’s own heart

An adulterer and a murderer

Yet, God loved him so

God loves us just the same

His love is oh so great

See beyond the deeds and into the soul

Perceive what the Creator sees

People in need of hope and of a second chance

Someone to lift them up and take their hand

Loneliness is a lie that died at the cross

Extend your heart and be a friend

God gave us each other

To lift up one another

Be intentional and connect

Put your heart on your sleeve

Let your story shine through

Some people are to be reached through you

You are his hands and feet

The salt and light of the world

Created to be used by Him

A vessel in His hands

Shaped and formed for so much more

Remember David? Just a Shepard

Slayed goliath with the swing of a rock

Saul, a persecutor of believers

Became Paul an advocator for believers

Humility isn’t thinking less of you

But thinking more often of others

Putting them before yourself

For even Jesus, a king, came down as a man

To serve and not to be served

He gave His life for the world

There is no greater love than this

To love when you’re not loved

For by this the world will know the greatness of His love

We are ambassadors of Christ, of Love

Loved to love and to bring heaven down

Hand by hand, heart by heart, person by person

The world is overtaken by His love

Love Boldly, holding nothing back

This is the greatest commandment of all

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39
