Wake Up ― The Poem

Wake Up

I’m tired― tired of being tired

I feel weak― weak from my own weaknesses

I close my eyes and my dreams come to life

So real, so tangible

In a blink of an eye, they vanish from my sight

…I wake up

Darkness consumes my mind

Behind my eyes my life is so much brighter

The fog disappears and a blanket of possibilities wrap around me

Father, can you please fight this for me?

Can I sleep under the blanket of your love and rest my head on your heart?

Wake me up when it’s over

Collect my tears with your sacred, scarred hands

Lighten the burden on my heart

You don’t want to miss this

Your strength, my strength in You, is found in the fight

Hold on to me

Just listen and follow

I’m fighting with you

I can’t take it all away, but I always pave a way

Step into it

Follow me

Hold on to me

Open your eyes and behold

Behold, what I am going to do through you

But you have to say yes

…Wake up and say yes

My light is all around you

Bursting from your heart

For I live in you

I am always with you”
